Let us do that one thing!

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phil. 3:13-14

It was an arduous three-hour hike to the top of Mt. Carleton, the highest peak in the Maritimes. Let me take this opportunity to share with you Philippians 3:13-14. We took a few breaks during the climb but they were quick stops. Our ultimate goal was to reach the top and enjoy the glorious view.

In a similar way, runners in a race don’t look back but they look forward to the finish line.In our difficult journey of life, we need to follow the apostle Paul’s advice: to do this one thing- to forget the past and press on. We should forget not only our failures but our victories as well; and both our joys and sorrows. They are all in the past, they are irrelevant. Our goal is to be like Christ.

If you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus yet, why don’t you trust him today as your Lord and Savior? And start your journey with Him.
